This practical workshop series has been inspired by some of our most popular workshops! It is designed to reconnect you with the ancient art of healing at home — using plants from your garden, remedies from your kitchen, and knowledge passed down through generations. This is a blend of folk medicine and science based naturopathy.
The Home Herbalist series will offer a month-by-month introduction to the safe and effective use of herbal medicine to support yourself, your family and your friends at home. Each session focuses on a specific body system, guiding you through plant profiles, anatomy and physiology, herbal preparations and simple remedies you can create yourself — from immune-boosting syrups to calming teas and healing salves.
There are 4 sessions and together we will begin to build your own home apothecary, deepen your understanding of plant-based medicine, and gain confidence in using nature to care for everyday ailments — first aid, fevers, grazes, headaches, digestive upsets and more. Each session will focus on a different system of the body and therefore we will touch on the anatomy and physiology for each system and how herbal medicine can support that system.
Who this is for:
If you’re curious about herbal medicine and feel drawn to the idea of being able to address and support your own health, and/or becoming your family’s everyday herbalist, we’d love you to join us. These are fun, interactive hands-on workshops for you to gain confidence and an understanding of the human body - so that you can assess practically and logically if and what support you can offer with the power of herbal medicine. Suitable for the beginner or for those who perhaps already have some level of understanding of herbal medicine. The series does not set you up to start clinical practice as a herbalist or naturopath - but perhaps you are considering this as a path to follow. Or simply to support yourself and your loved ones.
This is a small intimate group of maximum 10 people. You will be provided with notes and handbooks and access to facebook group to ask questions in between our sessions.
